3 vintage styles,

3 different feels.

style one: super 8

super 8 was created by kodak in 1965, and captures video on multiple rolls of film. this style is our bread and butter, as it effortlessly gives any wedding a nostalgic look. these films are perfectly imperfect, with all the beautiful blemishes that real film offers. super 8 is truly an incomparable format, as there is nothing quite like the rich colors and grain of real film. these videos are for the nostalgic lovers- the couples that want a wedding film unlike most. the logistics: we typically use anywhere from 3-10 rolls of film per wedding day, and each roll films for about 3 and a half minutes. although this might not seem like a lot of time, with a trained professional’s eye and intuition on what to shoot vs not shoot, these films will be anywhere from 3-8 minutes when fully edited. we ship our film to pro 8mm in california for processing and digitizing and after that, the editing begins. mallory spends hours meticulously editing, color correcting each individual clip, and putting all the best parts together, always with a vintage song accompanying your footage.

style two: black & white

think pride and prejudice, the 2005 version. or it’s a wonderful life. this film style is classic, elegant, and sophisticated. we film these on our digital cameras, which is a much more crisp film and high resolution than our other styles. this style mimics old black and white films, with the lack of saturation automatically making any footage feel old-timey. this style is more sleek and fashion forward; for the bride that appreciates the fine line between simplicity and elegance. this type of film fits best with vogue-inspired weddings with a modern theme, and pairs well with vintage/classical music. these films capture much more detail such as close ups and in-between moments. we like to pretty much keep our cameras rolling all day for this style, to ensure that we capture all of the in-between moments. our digital films do not come in color, only black and white. the reason for this simply stated is that black and white instantly gives our films an old-fashioned feel, and that’s always our main goal. these films allow the wedding day to speak for itself- and often show much more details and emotion than our other styles.

style three: 90’s home video

this style is different from our others in that it 1) allows you to have up to 90 minutes of footage, and 2) it is our only option that has original audio in it! this style is filmed on an old VHS camera, just like the ones we all grew up on in the 90s. with this style, you receive a completely unedited documentary of your wedding day, plus an edited, shortened version for social media sharing. with this style, we pretty much follow you around all day and film a home video for you. this style is perfect if you grew up with your parents footage because you will understand the vibe of vhs. forget aesthetic shots and perfect lighting- this format focuses less on framing the perfect shot, and more on the nostalgic home-video feel that you will be able to cherish forever. this style offers anywhere from 30-90 minutes of unedited footage, as opposed to our edited films that are typically 3-8 minutes. this VHS coverage is low in quality, and high in value. this footage allows us to capture real conversations with audio, and the look of it effortlessly takes you back to old home videos.
